Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Yuvanidhi Plus Scheme, launched by the Government of Karnataka, helps Yuva Nidhi beneficiaries become more job-ready by giving them proper skill training. The programme aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by equipping unemployed youth with industry-relevant and job-ready skills, thereby improving their placement opportunities and encouraging self-employment and entrepreneurship. Launched as part of the Karnataka Budget 2024–25 and implemented through the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, the scheme focuses on short-term, demand-driven skill training.

It targets thousands of registered Yuva Nidhi beneficiaries, with an overall objective of training youth through multiple phases across various government-certified training institutions. Training is delivered through reputed government institutions such as the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK), Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC), Karnataka German Technical Training Institute (KGTTI), and Karnataka ITI Employment Society (KIUS), among others.

Beneficiaries can also explore other Karnataka government youth welfare initiatives such as the Karnataka Yuva Nidhi Scheme for unemployment assistance and the Karnataka Stipend to LAW Graduates Scheme for financial support to eligible law graduates. These schemes together aim to improve employment opportunities, skill development, and career support for the youth of Karnataka.
