Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
Kalyani Sahayata Yojana is a financial assistance scheme of the MP Shram Kalyan Mandal, Labour Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. This scheme provides ongoing financial support to the widow (Kalyani) of a deceased worker who was employed in a registered industrial establishment in Madhya Pradesh under the MP Shram Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1982. She receives financial assistance of ₹12,000 per year, paid in two equal instalments of ₹6,000 - once in June and once in December. To be eligible, the deceased worker must have been employed at the establishment for at least one year prior to his death, and the establishment must have been regularly contributing to the MP Shram Kalyan Mandal under the Act.
The widow must submit her application preferably within one year of the worker's death, along with key documents such as the death certificate, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and an affidavit confirming she has not remarried. Once approved, the benefit continues for life, renewed each year upon submission of a fresh affidavit - making this scheme a reliable and long-term source of financial security for widows of organised sector workers in Madhya Pradesh.
Widows receiving benefits under the Kalyani Sahayata Yojana may also be eligible for other welfare schemes such as the Madhya Pradesh Mukhyamantri Kalyani Pension Scheme, which provides monthly pension assistance to widowed women for daily financial support, and the Madhya Pradesh Mukhyamantri Kalyani Vivah Sahayata Yojana, which offers financial assistance for the marriage of daughters of widowed women. Together, these schemes help improve the financial security and social welfare of widows and their families in Madhya Pradesh.
