Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Vivah Sahayata Yojana is a financial assistance scheme implemented by the Madhya Pradesh Shram Kalyan Mandal under the Labour Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It provides one-time financial support of Rs. 15,000 for the marriage of a worker's daughter (aged 18 years or above) or for the marriage of a female worker herself. Many workers face financial pressure during marriage expenses; therefore, the scheme provides financial assistance to reduce this burden.

The scheme is applicable to workers employed in industrial establishments covered under the MP Shram Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1982, subject to regular contribution by the establishment to the Mandal. Applications are submitted through Lok Seva Kendras and the assistance amount is transferred directly to the applicant's bank account within 30 working days.

The benefit is restricted to a maximum of two daughters per worker and a separate application is required for each marriage. The application must be submitted between 15 days prior and 1 day before the marriage date.

Eligibility Requirements

• Worker / Applicant Eligibility
  • The applicant must be a worker employed in an industrial establishment covered under the MP Shram Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1982.
  • The establishment must be regularly contributing (abhidaay) to the MP Shram Kalyan Mandal.
  • The worker must have been in continuous service for at least one year in the same establishment.
  • The worker must be actively employed at the establishment on the date of application.
  • The applicant must not have received financial assistance for the same marriage from any other government department or scheme.
• Bride (Vadhu) Eligibility
  • The bride must be the worker's daughter OR the female worker herself.
  • The minimum age of the bride must be 18 years or above at the time of marriage, as verified by Class 8th or 10th marksheet or a valid age proof document.

Required Documents

• Application form in prescribed format with signatures of applicant and employer/manager with official seal
• Self-attested affidavit / declaration in prescribed format
• Age proof of bride (Class 8th or 10th marksheet self-attested photocopy) or valid age proof document
• Original marriage invitation card (Vivah Patrika)
• Aadhaar card of the bride (self-attested photocopy)
• Samagra ID of the bride (self-attested photocopy)
• Bank passbook first page showing name, account number and IFSC code clearly
• PF card / ESI card / Employee ID issued by employer (photocopy)
• Recent passport-size photograph of applicant and bride

Steps to Apply

To apply for Vivah Sahayata Yojana, both online and offline methods are available. However, the online process is only partially online because the application is submitted through a Lok Seva Kendra and physical documents also need to be submitted. However, you can download the form online and check all the details in advance to save time and effort.

Online

• First, the applicant needs to visit the official Lok Seva Guarantee portal of Madhya Pradesh, here scroll and click on "Samaj Kalyan or Pension" section and search for the Vivah Sahayata Yojana. On the portal, you can check the scheme details and related information.
• After that, the applicant should download the application form online. Fill the form carefully with all correct details.
• On the portal, select the Lok Seva Kendra option. You can also choose to apply through an MPOnline Kiosk or CSC, depending on what is convenient for you. After selecting Lok Seva Kendra, choose your district and visit the nearest center to complete your application.
• Submit the filled application form along with all required documents at the Lok Seva Kendra. The staff will enter your application online and give you an acknowledgement receipt. Keep it safe.
• After the online submission, you must also submit the physical copy of the form and documents at the Labour Welfare Centre or Regional Office.
• Once the form is submitted, your application will be verified by the concerned officer. All details and documents will be checked.
• After filling the form and uploading documents, the application is processed. If everything is correct, the benefit will be approved.
• If the application is approved, ₹15000 will be transferred to your bank account. The process usually takes up to 30 working days

Offline

• Step 1: Collect the Application Form
• The applicant should visit the Board's regional office or the Labour Welfare Centre during office hours and obtain a hard copy of the prescribed application form from the concerned authority.
• Step 2: Fill the Application
• Form The applicant must carefully fill in all mandatory fields in the application form. A recent passport-size photograph should be affixed in the designated space (duly signed, if required). Copies of all required documents must be attached and self-attested wherever applicable. All details should be verified for accuracy before submission.
• Step 3: Submission of Application
• The duly filled and signed application form, along with all required documents, must be submitted to the concerned authority within the prescribed time limit, if applicable.
• Step 4: Acknowledgment of Submission
• Upon submission, the applicant should obtain a receipt or acknowledgment from the concerned authority. The receipt must contain essential details such as the date and time of submission and a unique reference number, wherever applicable. This acknowledgment should be retained for future reference.

Appeal Process

If the application is rejected or not processed within the time limit, the applicant can file an appeal:

• First Appeal: To the Assistant Welfare Commissioner, MP Shram Kalyan Mandal, Bhopal (within 30 working days resolution time).
• Second Appeal: To the Welfare Commissioner, MP Shram Kalyan Mandal, Bhopal.

Note: Appeals can also be filed online under the Lok Seva Guarantee system.
