Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
Unmarried women, especially in old age, often face money problems and a lack of family support. Because of this, they feel financially weak and socially insecure. To help such women, the Government of Madhya Pradesh started the Mukhyamantri Avivahita Pension Yojana in 2018.
This scheme is for unmarried women who are 50 years or older and belong to poor families. Under this scheme, eligible women get ₹600 every month as financial help. The money is directly sent to their bank account through the DBT system.
The main aim of this scheme is to give basic financial support, independence, and security to unmarried women so that they can live with dignity and meet their daily needs without depending on others.
Apart from this scheme, the Madhya Pradesh government operates several other social security pension schemes to support different vulnerable groups. These include Vridhavastha Pension Yojana (Old Age Pension), Parityakta Pension Yojana (Abandoned Women Pension), Kalyani Pension Yojana (Widow Pension), and Nishaktata Pension Yojana (Disability Pension). Together, these schemes form a comprehensive social safety net for the underprivileged sections of Madhya Pradesh.
The application process for this scheme has been made simple and accessible through both online and offline modes. Women can apply through the official Social Security Pension Portal or by visiting their nearest Gram Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat, or Municipal Office. The approval process is systematic, and once approved, beneficiaries start receiving the pension regularly every month, ensuring consistent support throughout their lives.
