Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

In Indian society, it is common for daughters to move to their in-laws' house after marriage and start a new phase of life there. While this tradition is widely followed, it often leaves elderly parents, especially those who have only daughters, without regular support at home.

As parents grow older, managing daily expenses and basic needs becomes difficult without a steady income or family support. This can lead to financial dependency and insecurity in old age.

To address this issue, the Government of Madhya Pradesh introduced the Kanya Abhibhavak Pension Yojana on 1 April 2013.

This scheme is specially designed for elderly couples where at least one spouse is 60 years or above and they have only daughters (no living son). Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive Rs 600 per month as financial assistance.

The main aim of this scheme is to provide financial support and a sense of security to parents of daughters, ensuring that they can live independently and with dignity without depending on others.

Our society has many sections that need support at different stages of life. Keeping this in mind, the government also runs schemes like the Nishakt Pension, Old Age Pension, and Unmarried Pension, which aim to provide financial security to other vulnerable groups in society.

Scheme Benefits

Eligibility Requirements

• At least one spouse (husband or wife) must be 60 years or above
• The couple must have only daughters (no living son)
• Must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh
• Should not be an income taxpayer
• Name should be registered on the Samagra Portal

Required Documents

• Passport-size photograph (joint or single, as applicable)
• Certificate confirming that the couple has only daughters and no living sons
• Self-declaration certificate stating that the applicant is not an income taxpayer
• Age proof certificate
• Residence proof
• 9-digit Samagra ID
• Affidavit
• For special cases:
  • Widow: Husband's death certificate
  • Deserted woman: Court order issued by the competent authority

Steps to Apply

The Kanya Abhibhavak Pension Yojana can be applied through both online and offline modes.

Online Application Process

• First, visit the official Social Security Pension Portal website.
• Scroll down and click on the "Online application for pension schemes"
• Click on the option related to pension scheme application.
• After that "Online Request For Pension" page will open on your screen
• Here, you need to enter your Member Samagra ID and the Captcha as well.
• An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
• After OTP verification, your details will appear on the screen. Check them carefully.
• Fill in your bank account details properly, as the pension will be sent there.
• Select the scheme "Kanya Abhibhavak Pension Yojana."
• Upload required documents, accept the declaration, and submit the form.
• After submission, your application will be verified by officials.

Offline Application Process

• Eligible beneficiaries can apply for the scheme through the offline application form.
• The offline application form is available free of cost at the following offices:-
  • Gram Panchayat or Janpad Panchayat offices in rural areas.
  • Municipal Corporation / Municipality / Council offices in urban areas.
• Applicants may also submit their application through Lok Seva Kendra, MP Online Kiosk, or CSC Centre.
• After obtaining the application form, it should be filled out carefully with all required details.
• All necessary documents must be attached along with the completed application form.
• An affidavit on ₹50 judicial stamp paper must also be submitted, stating the following:
  • The beneficiary has no son.
  • The beneficiary is not an income taxpayer.
• The duly filled application form, along with all required documents, must be submitted to the same office from which it was obtained.
• After submission, the concerned officials will verify the application and upload the beneficiary details on the online portal.
• Once the application is approved, a pension of Rs 600/- per month will be transferred to the beneficiary's bank account.
