Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

People with disabilities often struggle with regular income and daily expenses, especially when job opportunities are limited. Because of this, managing basic needs can become difficult.

To support such individuals, the Government of Madhya Pradesh introduced the "Nishakt Pension Yojana" in 2016. This scheme is meant for people who are 18 years or older and have at least 40% disability. Under this scheme, eligible individuals receive Rs 600 every month as financial support.

The main idea behind this scheme is simple: to provide some financial stability so that persons with disabilities can live more independently and not have to depend completely on others.

The state government also runs other pension schemes, such as Vridhavastha Pension Yojana (Old Age Pension), Avivahita Pension Scheme (Unmarried Women Pension), Kalyani Pension Yojana (Widow Pension), and Parityakta Pension (Deserted Pension).

Scheme Benefits

• Under the Samajik Suraksha Nishakt Pension scheme, the beneficiary receives Rs 600 every month.
• Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the beneficiary's bank account

Eligibility Requirements

• To apply for this scheme, a few basic conditions must be met:
• The person should be a resident of Madhya Pradesh
• Age must be 18 years or above
• Disability should be 40% or more
• The name must be registered on the Samagra Portal

• Three Passport-size photos
• Age Proof (like a birth certificate or any valid document)
• Disability Certificate
• 9-Digit Samagra ID
• Active Phone Number

Approval Authority

• Rural: Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Janpad Panchayat
• Urban: Municipal Commissioner / Chief Municipal Officer

Steps to Apply

You can apply for this scheme in two different ways, depending on your convenience, as the application process is available through both online and offline modes, each having its own step-by-step procedure, which is explained in detail below.

Online Application Process

• If you want to apply online, first open the Social Security Pension Portal.
• On the homepage, just scroll a little, and you will find the option to "Online Application For Pension schemes", click on that.
• Enter your Samagra ID.
• After this, an OTP will come to your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP to move ahead.
• Once you do that, your details will automatically show on the screen.
• Just check everything properly, like your name, age, and other details.
• After that, fill in your bank details carefully, because your pension money will come into this account. Then select the scheme Samajik Suraksha Nishakt Pension Yojana.
• Next, upload your photo and bank passbook, accept the declaration, and click on submit.
• That's it. Your application will go for checking, and if needed, officials may contact you or verify your details.

Offline Application Process

• If the online process feels a bit difficult, don't worry, you can go for the offline method.
• Just visit your nearest Panchayat office or Municipal office.
• There, you can ask for the pension application form.
• Once you get it, fill in all the details carefully.
• After that, attach all the required documents along with the form and submit it to the same office.
• And yes, don't forget to take a receipt after submitting the form, so you have proof that your application has been submitted.
• Once your application is approved, your name will be included in the list of beneficiaries.
• After that, the pension amount of Rs 600 will be credited to your bank account every month.
