Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Abandoned and deserted women represent one of the most vulnerable sections of Indian society, often struggling to meet their basic needs without any stable source of income or family support. Recognising this critical social issue, the Government of Madhya Pradesh launched the Samajik Suraksha Parityakta Pension Scheme in 1981 under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. This initiative marked a significant step toward ensuring social security and financial independence for women who have been deserted by their husbands or families.

The primary objective of this scheme is to provide a regular monthly financial assistance of Rs 600 to abandoned women belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. This pension serves as a lifeline for women aged between 18 and 59 years who lack any other means of economic support. The scheme operates across both rural and urban areas of Madhya Pradesh, ensuring that no eligible woman is left behind due to geographical constraints.

The implementation of this scheme is carried out through a well-structured administrative framework. In rural areas, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Janpad Panchayat acts as the approval authority, while in urban areas, the Municipal Commissioner or Chief Municipal Officer holds this responsibility. The scheme has been integrated with the state's Samagra Portal, which maintains a comprehensive database of all families in Madhya Pradesh, making the identification and verification process more transparent and efficient.

Over the years, the scheme has provided crucial support to thousands of abandoned women across the state, helping them maintain their dignity and meet their daily necessities. The pension amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, eliminating middlemen and ensuring that the financial assistance reaches the intended beneficiaries without any leakage or delay.

Apart from this scheme, the Madhya Pradesh government operates several other social security pension schemes to support different vulnerable groups. These include Vridhavastha Pension Yojana (Old Age Pension), Avivahita Pension Scheme (Unmarried Women Pension), Kalyani Pension Yojana (Widow Pension), and Nishaktata Pension Yojana (Disability Pension). Together, these schemes form a comprehensive social safety net for the underprivileged sections of Madhya Pradesh.

Scheme Benefits

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh
• Only abandoned or deserted women are eligible
• Age should be between 18 and 59 years
• Must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category
• Name must be registered on the Samagra Portal with a valid 9-digit Samagra ID
• Should have an active bank account in her name
• Should not be receiving a pension under any other government scheme

Steps to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply for the Madhya Pradesh Social Security Deserted Pension Scheme either online or offline.

Online Application Process

• Go to the Social Security Pension Portal and open the "Online Application for Pension Schemes" option under Services.
• Enter your 9-digit Samagra ID.
• After that, fill in the captcha and click on "Apply Online For Pension."
• At this stage, you need to complete the OTP verification.
• Make sure you have your registered mobile number with you, as the OTP will be sent to that number.
• Enter your mobile number, click on Generate OTP, then enter the received OTP and validate it to proceed further.
• Once the verification is successful, your applicant's details will appear on the screen. Check all the details carefully.
• Next, fill in your bank details, including bank type, bank name, district and branch, and your account number.
• Now, select the scheme "Samajik Suraksha Parityakta Pension Scheme."
• Upload the required documents, including your photo (30–60 KB) and bank passbook.
• Then, enter your mobile number again and accept the declaration.
• Finally, click on "Submit Application."
• After submission, your application will be sent for verification, and the concerned authority may contact you or verify your documents.

Offline Application Process

• Visit your nearest Gram Panchayat or Janpad Panchayat (in rural areas), or Municipal Corporation/Nagar Palika/Nagar Parishad (in urban areas), or a Public Service Centre.
• Fill out the prescribed application form carefully.
• Attach all the required documents and recheck the details before submitting.
• Submit the form to the concerned office.
• After submission, you will receive an acknowledgement.
• Your application and documents will then be verified by the concerned authorities, such as the Gram Panchayat, the District Panchayat, or the Urban Body.
• If any information or document is incorrect, the application may be rejected with written reasons.
• If everything is correct, your application will be approved as per the rules.
• After approval, your name will be added to the pension list, and the pension amount will be credited monthly to your bank account.
