Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Ganga Swarupa Punah Lagna Arthik Sahay Scheme is a welfare initiative launched by the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat, to provide financial assistance and social support to widowed women who wish to remarry. The Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Scheme itself is a social security initiative of the Gujarat Government under which eligible widowed women receive monthly financial assistance of ₹1,250 to support their livelihood and daily expenses. By linking remarriage assistance with the existing widow welfare scheme, the government ensures continued financial and rehabilitation support for vulnerable women.

Out of the ₹50,000 assistance provided under the Ganga Swarupa Punah Lagna Arthik Sahay Scheme, ₹25,000 is directly transferred to the beneficiary's savings bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), while the remaining ₹25,000 is provided in the form of National Savings Certificates (NSC) to encourage long-term savings and financial security. • All necessary documents like Aadhaar Card, widow certificate, remarriage certificate, bank passbook, photographs, and other required documents must be attached along with the application form.

• After submission, the concerned officials will check and verify all the information and documents provided by the applicant.

• If the application and documents are found correct and the applicant is eligible under the scheme rules, the application will be approved by the concerned authority.
