Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Rajasthan Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana 2025 is an important student welfare initiative launched by the Government of Rajasthan to support girl students pursuing technical education. The state government has already implemented schemes such as Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana, and Devnarayan Scooty Distribution and Incentive Scheme to promote education among specific categories of students. Continuing this effort, the government introduced the Kalpana Chawla Girl Electric Two-Wheeler Distribution Scheme on 16 January 2025 to expand support for female students enrolled in engineering and diploma programs.

Under this scheme, the Government of Rajasthan aims to provide a reliable and safe mode of transportation to girl students so that they can attend their colleges regularly without facing commuting challenges. The scheme directly addresses issues like distance, safety concerns, and lack of transport facilities, which often become barriers to higher education for girls. The Department of Technical Education, Rajasthan, acts as the nodal department responsible for implementing and monitoring the scheme across the state.

Through this initiative, a total of 500 free electric scooters will be distributed to eligible girl students studying in the first year of Engineering or Diploma courses in Government Engineering Colleges, universities affiliated with state technical universities, and Government or Women's Polytechnic institutions. The scheme also allows beneficiaries of other scholarship schemes to apply, ensuring wider inclusion. Interested students can apply online through the Rajasthan Single Sign-On (SSO) Portal, making the application process simple, transparent, and accessible.

Eligibility Requirements

• To avail the benefits of the Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana, applicants must fulfil the following eligibility conditions:
  • Applicant must be a female student and a resident of Rajasthan.
  • Must be studying in the first year of an Engineering or Diploma course.
  • Eligible categories include SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS, and General category students.
  • Minimum educational qualification:
    • Engineering Course: Minimum 50% marks in Class 12 (Rajasthan Board) or 60% marks (CBSE).
    • Diploma Course: Minimum 45% marks in Class 10 (Rajasthan Board) or 55% marks (CBSE).
  • Annual family income should not exceed ₹8,00,000.
  • Students must be enrolled in Government Engineering Colleges, State Technical Universities, or Government/Women Polytechnic Institutes.

Ineligibility Conditions

• Students who are already beneficiaries of Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana.
• Students who have already received benefits under Devnarayan Scooty Scheme.
• Students with annual family income exceeding Rs 8,00,000.
• Students not enrolled in Engineering or Diploma courses.

Steps to Apply

• Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana Application Form is available on the Rajasthan Government's Single Sign In Website.
• Visit the Single Sign In Website of the Rajasthan Government and register yourself with the help of your Gmail or Jan Aadhaar Card Number.
  
• Username and Password will be sent by the website to the registered Gmail address of the applicant.
• Log in and search for Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana and click on it.
  
• Click on Apply Online and enter your Jan Aadhaar Card Number.
• The website will verify the Jan Aadhaar Card Number through OTP.
• Choose Beneficiary Name and Fill Online Application Form of Kalpana Chawla Electric Scooty Vitran Yojana.
• Upload all the required documents on the website.
• Check the filled details and submit the Application Form.
• Submitted Application Form and Documents will be verified by the nodal officer of the respective university/ college of girl students.
• The list of Selected Girl Students will then be forwarded to the Technical Education Directorate for further verification.
• Technical Education Directorate will then forward the list to the Technical Education Department for approval.
• The government will then distribute free scooties among selected girl students under the Kalpana Chawla Scooty Vitran Yojana.
