Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Malnutrition during pregnancy is a serious concern among women in Rajasthan, causing low birth weight and poor maternal health outcomes.
• To address this issue, the state government has introduced a new scheme called the "Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana".
• Under this scheme, the state government is providing financial assistance to pregnant women.
• The government believes that by supporting these women, it can ensure proper nutrition for both mother and unborn child.
• Under the Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana, the government is providing financial assistance of Rs 6,000.
• This scheme is not new; it is a renamed version of the previous government scheme, the Indira Gandhi Matritva Poshan Yojana.
• The benefit of Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana will be provided to women who are pregnant for the second time.
• Earlier, the benefits were provided in 5 instalments under the Indira Gandhi Matritva Poshan Yojana.
• However, after renaming the scheme, the benefit is now provided in three instalments.
• The scheme was originally launched in 2020 and was renamed by the new government in 2023.
• Recently, the government has transferred 170 crore to 5 lakh 9 thousand beneficiaries.
• To receive the benefit of Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana, eligible women must register themselves.
• For Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana registration, women must contact their nearest Anganwadi workers.
• Women must keep their Janadhaar Card, Mobile number, and Bank passbook ready for registration.
• Women registered under the Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana will receive the assistance amount directly in their bank account via DBT.
• For more details, women should contact their local Anganwadi worker.

Scheme Benefits

• Financial Assistance of Rs 6,000 to Beneficiary women.

• Assistance will be provided in three instalments.

  Installment	Amount	Stage	Time
  First	Rs 1,000	Upon registration after the first Anti-Natal Checkups	Within 120 days.
  Second	Rs 1,000	Upon second Anti-Natal Checkup	Mid Pregnancy
  Third	Rs 4,000	At Child Birth	Post Delievery of a Boy only.

Eligibility Requirements

• The woman must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
• The woman must be pregnant for the second time.
• Women receiving benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana are not eligible.
• Women who gave birth to twins in their first pregnancy are also not eligible.
• In case of remarriage, women who have more than one child from their previous marriage are also not eligible.

• Mamata Card- a card issued by the health department to track ANC and vaccination.

Steps to Apply

• Women are not required to submit any application form for Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana.
• However, registration is mandatory to receive the benefits.
• Registration for Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana will be done during Anti-Natal Checkups with the help of an Anganwadi Worker.
• The woman's pregnancy details and documents will be forwarded to the Medical and Health Department of Rajasthan.
• Officials then upload pregnant women's details on the PCTS Portal of the Rajasthan Government.
• Once registered, women receive a confirmation message on their mobile through SMS.
