Important Update

Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Rajasthan Government introduced Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana in 2016–17 under the Rajasthan Women and Child Development Department to encourage the birth of girl children and improve their health and education. Under the scheme, eligible families could receive financial assistance of up to ₹50,000 in six instalments, from the girl's birth until she passed Class 12. The assistance aimed to support the upbringing and education of girls and help families provide better opportunities for their daughters.

Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana covered eligible girl children born on or after 1 June 2016. The scheme provided assistance to eligible girls whose mothers were permanent residents of Rajasthan, subject to the prescribed conditions. The girl child had to be born at a government hospital or a private medical institution authorised by the Medical and Health Department. Families also had to meet the applicable health and education requirements to receive the respective instalments.

The scheme aimed to promote a positive attitude towards the birth of girl children, encourage institutional deliveries, reduce child mortality and support girls' education. Eligibility Requirements

To receive financial assistance under Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana, the girl child and her family had to meet the prescribed eligibility conditions. The key eligibility criteria included the following:

Steps to Apply

Application Process at the Time of Birth

• After the girl's birth, the relevant government hospital or authorised private medical institution recorded the birth and health-related details.
• The prescribed application form could be obtained from the relevant medical officer's office or designated centre.
• The applicant had to complete the form and attach the birth certificate, domicile certificate, identity documents and other required records.
• The completed application and supporting documents had to be submitted to the relevant Anganwadi Centre or Chief Medical Officer's office, wherever applicable.
• The designated authorities verified the application and supporting documents.
• After eligibility verification and approval, the government transferred the approved assistance to the beneficiary's bank account.

Application Process at the Time of School Admission

• When the girl secured admission to the relevant class, the applicant had to obtain the prescribed application form.
• The applicant had to complete the form and attach the girl's birth certificate, identity documents, bank account details, immunisation proof and school admission documents.
• The completed application form and supporting documents had to be submitted to the concerned school's office.
• School officials uploaded the application and documents to the Shala Darpan portal through the prescribed process.
• The concerned department officials examined the application and supporting documents.
• After approval, the eligible assistance was transferred to the beneficiary's bank account.
