Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

MP Mukhyamantri Ladli Laxmi Yojana is a flagship girl child welfare scheme launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh on 01 April 2007. The scheme aims to improve the social and financial status of girls by providing educational assistance and long-term financial security. The Women and Child Development Department manages the scheme across the state.

The Madhya Pradesh Government introduced this girl education support scheme to encourage families to educate daughters and reduce discrimination against girl children. The scheme also promotes awareness regarding female education, child welfare, and women's empowerment in rural and urban areas of the state.

Under the MP Mukhyamantri Ladli Laxmi Scheme, eligible girl children receive financial assistance of up to Rs 1,43,000 in multiple stages from school education to higher studies and adulthood. Earlier, the total financial assistance available under the scheme was Rs 1,18,000. However, the amount has now been increased to Rs 1,43,000 with an additional incentive of ₹25,000 for girls who enrol for the graduation or professional courses. The scheme provides scholarships and incentive amounts at different educational levels to encourage girls to continue their studies without financial difficulties.

Apart from educational support, the scheme also provides financial assistance for graduation and professional courses. After fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions, the beneficiary receives a final amount of Rs 1 lakh after attaining 21 years of age. This long-term support helps families secure the future of their daughters and promotes financial independence among girls.

This financial assistance scheme for girls focuses on improving the child sex ratio, preventing child marriage, discouraging female foeticide, and promoting higher education among girls. The initiative also motivates parents to adopt family planning and provide equal educational opportunities to daughters.

Apart from monetary benefits, the scheme encourages skill development and economic empowerment for women. Beneficiaries may also receive priority in professional courses and employment-oriented government programs. The maturity amount received under the scheme can be used for self-employment or as margin money for business and bank loans.

The scheme includes benefits for orphan girls, legally adopted girls, girls born in jail, and girls born to rape victims under special conditions. All approved financial assistance is transferred directly to the beneficiary through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Eligible residents of Madhya Pradesh can complete the MP Ladli Laxmi Yojana online registration process through the official portal. Applicants can also access application forms, certificates, and scheme-related services online. Apart from this, the government also runs other beneficial schemes for girl children, such as Gaon Ki Beti Scheme, Free Cycle Distribution Scheme, and Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana.

Stage-wise Financial Assistance

• Rs 2,000 is provided after admission to Class 6.
• Rs 4,000 is provided after admission to Class 9.
• Rs 6,000 scholarship is provided after admission to Class 11.
• Rs 6,000 scholarship is provided after admission to Class 12.
• Rs 25,000 incentive assistance is provided for graduation or professional courses with a minimum duration of two years. The amount is paid in two equal instalments during the first and final year of the course.
• The state government bears the tuition fees for higher education \(graduation\) of Ladli girls.
• Rs 1,00,000 final benefit is provided after the girl attains 21 years of age, appears in the Class 12 examination, and marries after attaining the legally prescribed age.

Eligibility Requirements

• The girl child must be born on or after 01 January 2006.
• The applicant must be registered at the local Anganwadi Centre.
• Parents should be permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh.
• Parents should not be income tax payers.
• The family should have a maximum of two children.
• Family planning is mandatory after the second child.
• The first girl child is eligible without the family planning condition.
• Special eligibility is available for orphan girls and adopted girls.

• Birth certificate of the girl child.
• Domicile certificate of Madhya Pradesh.
• Family planning certificate for the second girl child.

• Accept the self-declaration and proceed further.
• Fill in Samagra details, family details, and other required information.
• Upload all required documents in the prescribed format.
• Verify all entered information carefully.
• Submit the application form online.
• The concerned authority will verify the application after submission.
• After successful verification, benefits will be provided as per the scheme rules.

Important Points

• All financial assistance is transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
• Registration may be cancelled if false information is submitted.
• Child marriage leads to automatic cancellation of scheme benefits.
• Special approval for delayed applications may be granted by the District Collector.
• Girl children born to women prisoners or rape victims are also eligible.
