As part of the higher-education scholarship and incentive category, financial assistance of around ₹96 crore was distributed to 7,260 students under various schemes.

Scheme Benefits

The Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana (MYSY) provides financial assistance to eligible students pursuing higher education in Gujarat. The scheme offers support towards tuition fees, hostel expenses, and study materials, helping students from economically weaker families continue their education without financial hardship.

1. Tuition Fee Assistance

Eligible students can receive 50% of the approved tuition fee or the maximum assistance prescribed for the course, whichever is lower.

2. Hostel Assistance

• Students studying outside their home taluka may receive hostel assistance if they are not allotted accommodation in a Government hostel.
• Eligible students receive ₹1,200 per month for up to 10 months.
• The maximum hostel assistance is ₹12,000 per academic year.
• Students living in rented accommodation may also claim this benefit by submitting a valid rent agreement.

3. Books and Equipment Assistance

Eligible students can receive a one-time books and equipment grant to purchase study materials required for their course.

How to Renew Gujarat Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana Scholarship?

Students who have already received benefits under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana (MYSY) can apply for scholarship renewal every academic year, provided they continue to satisfy the prescribed eligibility conditions. Renewal applicants must log in to the official MYSY portal using their existing credentials, submit the renewal application with updated academic details, upload the required documents, and complete the verification process, if required.

1. Visit the official MYSY Scholarship Portal.
2. Log in using your previously registered User ID and Password.
3. Click on the Renewal Application option.
4. Update your academic, personal, and bank account details, if required.
5. Upload the prescribed renewal documents, including the previous year's marksheet, renewal certificate issued by the institution, tuition fee receipts, income certificate, and other applicable documents.
6. Review all the information carefully and submit the renewal application online.
7. If instructed by the authorities, visit the designated MYSY Help Centre with the original documents for verification.

Note: To continue receiving scholarship benefits, students must secure at least 50% marks in the previous academic year, maintain a minimum of 75% attendance, and ensure that the annual family income remains within the prescribed limit.
