Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

Economic Help to Sahariya Students for B.Ed Training is a Government of Rajasthan scheme that gives direct financial support to students of the Sahariya tribal community who pursue Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) training. The Commissionerate, College Education Department, Rajasthan, Jaipur runs the scheme. The state government operates the scheme from the financial year 2023-24 onwards and bears 100% of its cost.

The government launched the Economic Help to Sahariya Students for B.ED Training Scheme because the Sahariya community remains one of the most backward tribal groups in Rajasthan, and very few of its youth reach government jobs. The core objective of the scheme is to help tribal students of the Sahariya area secure the maximum possible participation in government service. A B.Ed. degree opens the door to teaching jobs, so the state supports these students during their teacher training.

Under the scheme, an eligible Sahariya B.Ed. trainee receives assistance for college fees and the purchase of books. Students in the 2-year B.Ed. course get Rs 30,000 in the first year and Rs 30,000 in the second year, making a total of Rs 60,000. Students who join the 4-year integrated B.Ed. course after Class 12 get Rs 15,000 every year for four years, which also adds up to Rs 60,000. The scheme covers students of the Sahariya community from Baran district who study as regular trainees in a government or non-government B.Ed. institution.

The Economic Help to Sahariya Students for B.ED Training Scheme works completely online. Students fill the application form on the Rajasthan SSO Portal without paying any fee. Their own college checks the form and documents and forwards it to the district nodal college, after which the sanctioning officer approves it online. The department then prepares an online bill, and the treasury transfers the money directly into the bank account linked with the student's Jan Aadhaar. The student's KYC must be complete, and the Jan Aadhaar-linked account must remain active.

The Government of Rajasthan also runs several schemes to support students in higher education, including the Rajasthan Chief Minister Fellowship Program (CMFP), which provides opportunities for eligible candidates to contribute to governance and public policy, and the Chief Minister Higher Education Scholarship Scheme, which offers financial assistance to eligible students pursuing higher education. Interested students can check the complete details of both schemes here.
