Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Delhi Reimbursement of Tuition Fee Scheme for SC/ST/OBC students is a state-funded welfare initiative run by the Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi. Under this scheme, the Delhi Government reimburses tuition fees, lab fees, and library fees for SC, ST, and OBC students studying in Classes I to XII in recognised public and private schools in Delhi.

The SC, ST, OBC tuition fee reimbursement scheme in Delhi is open to students from families with an annual income of up to Rs. 3 lakh. The school must be recognised or affiliated with the Department of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, or the Municipal local bodies of Delhi. Students who meet the eligibility conditions can apply online through the e-District Delhi Portal every academic year.

Under the Delhi tuition fee reimbursement scheme, all eligible students in Classes I to XII receive reimbursement of their tuition fee. Students who have scored 50% or more marks and maintained at least 70% attendance in the previous year also receive reimbursement of the lab and library fees. The maximum reimbursement is Rs. 48,000 per academic year or the actual fees paid by the students, whichever is less.

Once the department approves the application, it credits the reimbursement amount directly into the student's bank account. The account must be in the student's name (a joint account with a parent or guardian is also permitted), must be active, and must be seeded with the student's Aadhaar number. Students must upload the original fee receipts for the current academic session to the portal at the time of application.

Eligibility Requirements

• The student must be a permanent resident of Delhi.
• The student must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Other Backwards Classes (OBC).
• Annual family income must not exceed Rs. 3 lakh from all sources combined.
• Students must be studying in classes 1 to 12.
• The student school must be affiliated with the Department. of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
• The student must not be availing of any other full-fee scholarship from any other government source for the same purpose.
• The students must have secured a minimum 50% marks and have at least 70% attendance in the last year.
• The students must not repeat in the same class.

Steps to Apply

• Students can submit their Delhi Reimbursement of Tuition Fee Scheme application online through the e-District Delhi Portal.
• First, you need to visit the edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in, the official online portal for Delhi government services.
• If you are applying for the first time, click on 'Login/Register" on the home page.
  
• Now tap on the "Register" button to proceed.
  
• Citizen registration window will appear on your screen.
  
• After registration, log in using your credentials.
  
• Search for the Reimbursement of Tuition Fee Scheme for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students and open the application form.
• Enter all required details in the application form, such as the student's personal information, school details, class, family income, and caste category.
• Scan and upload all the required documents in the shared size and format.
• Review the entire form carefully before submitting.
• Once you confirm that all details are correct, click Submit.
• Save or print the acknowledgement slip, which contains your application reference number for future tracking.
• Log in to the e-District portal anytime using your reference number to check the status of your application.
• Once the department approves your application, it credits the reimbursement amount directly into your bank account.
• Students must submit their application before the deadline, i.e. 30 April 2026.
