Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
The MP Labour Welfare Board's Shaikshanik Chhatravritti Yojana is a scholarship scheme designed for children of workers employed in registered factories and institutions across Madhya Pradesh. If a parent has been working in such a factory and contributing to PF for at least one year, their child can receive financial support for education — starting from Class 5 up to professional courses like MBBS, Engineering, Law, and MTech. The scheme is open to all categories, including General category families.
The scholarship amount depends on the course or class of study. School students can receive ₹2,000 per year, while students pursuing MBBS can get up to ₹12,500. The scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student's bank account through DBT.
Applicants should note that only two children per family can benefit under this scheme. The student must have passed the previous class and should not already be receiving benefits from another government scholarship scheme. Applying under multiple scholarship schemes may lead to rejection of the application.
