Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Free Computer Training Scheme is a skill development initiative launched by the Backward Class Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh to improve the digital skills and employability of educated unemployed youth belonging to the Other Backward Class (OBC). Under this scheme, eligible candidates can receive free training in either the CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) or the O Level Computer Course through NIELIT-recognized training institutes. The State Government bears the prescribed training cost, allowing eligible beneficiaries to enhance their computer knowledge without paying any training or registration fee.

The scheme is open to permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh who belong to the OBC category, are between 18 and 35 years of age, have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) or possess a higher qualification, and have an annual family income of not more than Rs. 1,00,000. Applicants must also be educated unemployed and should not be receiving a scholarship from any other educational institution at the time of application. Candidates can choose only one course while applying, and those who have already completed the CCC course under the scheme may later apply for the O Level course. However, candidates who have already completed the O Level course are not eligible to apply for the CCC course.

Interested applicants must submit the Uttar Pradesh Free Computer Training Scheme online application through the official portal. After submitting the online application, applicants must also submit the signed hard copy along with the required documents to the concerned District Backward Class Welfare Office before the prescribed deadline. For the 2026-27 session, the last date to submit the online application and hard copy is 20 July 2026. After the last date, the department verifies all applications and selects eligible candidates on the basis of Class 12 (Intermediate) marks. The selected candidates are admitted to NIELIT-recognized training institutes, where they receive free computer training as per the approved curriculum.

During the training period, beneficiaries are required to maintain at least 75% attendance through the Aadhaar-based facial authentication system. While the Government pays the training fee directly to the institute, the NIELIT examination fee must be paid separately by the trainee. By providing industry-recognized computer training at no cost, the Uttar Pradesh Free Computer Training Scheme helps OBC youth develop digital skills and improves their opportunities for employment in both the government and private sectors.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh also runs several other welfare and skill development programmes for students and job aspirants. Eligible candidates preparing for competitive examinations can explore the Mukhyamantri Abhyuday Yojana, which provides free coaching for various entrance and recruitment examinations. Similarly, candidates from the Scheduled Caste category can benefit from the SWD Free Coaching Scheme for Civil Services, which offers free coaching for UPSC, UPPSC, and other competitive examinations. Together, these schemes help improve education, skill development, and employment opportunities for eligible youth across Uttar Pradesh.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.

• Applicant should not have already availed the same course under the scheme. Candidates who have completed the CCC course under the scheme may apply for the O Level course, but candidates who have already completed the O Level course are not eligible to apply for the CCC course.

Course Details and Training Institutes

• The Uttar Pradesh Free Computer Training Scheme offers training in two computer courses:
  • CCC (Course on Computer Concepts): Duration of approximately 3 months.
  • O Level Computer Course: Duration of approximately 1 year.
• Applicants can choose either the CCC course or the O Level course while submitting the online application.
• Training is provided only through NIELIT-recognized training institutes empanelled by the Uttar Pradesh Backward Class Welfare Department.
• Selected candidates are allotted a training institute after the selection process is completed.
• Training is conducted as per the prescribed syllabus of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT).
• Beneficiaries are required to maintain a minimum of 75% biometric facial-authentication attendance during the training period.
• The examination fee charged by NIELIT is not covered under the scheme and must be paid separately by the trainee.

Steps to Apply

• Visit the official Uttar Pradesh Free Computer Training Scheme Portal.
• Complete the online registration by entering your Aadhaar number, mobile number and other required details.
• Log in to the portal using your registered credentials to access the Uttar Pradesh Free Computer Training Scheme online application form.
• Fill in the application form with your personal details, contact information and educational qualifications.
• Select your preferred computer course, either CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) or O Level.
• Upload scanned copies of all the required documents in the prescribed format.
• Verify the information entered in the application form and submit it online.
• Download and print the submitted Uttar Pradesh Free Computer Training Scheme application form.
• Sign the printed application form and attach self-attested copies of all the required documents.
• Submit the hard copy of the application form along with the required documents to the concerned District Backward Class Welfare Officer within the prescribed deadline.
• The department verifies the applications and selects eligible candidates on the basis of the marks obtained in the Class 12 (Intermediate) examination.
• Selected applicants are allotted a NIELIT-recognized training institute and can begin the free computer training as per the admission schedule announced by the department.

Selection Process

• After the last date of application, the District Backward Class Welfare Office verifies all online applications and the hard copies submitted by the applicants.
• Applications with incomplete information or missing required documents may be rejected during the verification process.
• Eligible applicants are selected based on the marks obtained in the Class 12 (Intermediate) examination. Merit is prepared according to the prescribed district-wise criteria.
• If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available seats, a district-wise merit list is prepared and the remaining eligible applicants are placed on the waiting list.
• After the merit list is finalised, the selected candidates are allotted a NIELIT-recognized training institute for the chosen CCC or O Level computer course.
• The allotted training institute completes the candidate's admission and registration with NIELIT before the commencement of the training programme.
• Selected candidates must report to the allotted institute and attend the training as per the schedule notified by the department.

Important Instructions

• Fill the online application form carefully. Incorrect information may lead to rejection of the application.
• Submit the signed hard copy of the application form along with the required documents to the concerned District Backward Class Welfare Office before the last date.
• Maintain at least 75% attendance through the Aadhaar-based facial authentication system during the training.
• If you remain absent for 15 days or more without a valid reason, your admission may be cancelled.
• The NIELIT examination fee is not covered under the scheme and must be paid by the trainee.
• If you have already completed the O Level course under this scheme, you cannot apply for the CCC course. However, candidates who have completed the CCC course can apply for the O Level course.
